PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 Standard

is an international standard defining general requirements for testing and measurement laboratories. This standard is developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ISO/IEC 17025 specifies criteria that laboratories must meet to ensure the credibility, accuracy, and consistency of test and measurement results.

Key aspects of ISO/IEC 17025 include:

1. Quality Management: The standard requires laboratories to establish a quality management system that ensures the consistency and credibility of test results.

2. Competence of Personnel: Laboratories must employ personnel with appropriate qualifications and experience to perform tests and measurements.

3. Sample Management: The standard defines procedures for storing, identifying, and managing samples to prevent contamination or damage.

4. Scope of Testing: Laboratories must clearly define the scope of their tests and measurements and ensure proper documentation.

5. Equipment and Calibration: Laboratories must maintain and calibrate their equipment to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results.

6. Document Management: The standard requires documentation related to research and measurement processes.

Certification according to ISO/IEC 17025 is widely recognized as evidence that a laboratory meets high-quality standards and is capable of conducting accurate and reliable tests and measurements. This is particularly important for laboratories operating in areas where accuracy and reliability of results are crucial, such as the pharmaceutical, food, medical, or environmental research industries.

Standardized Methods:

Operating in accordance with standardized methods means that a company or organization adheres to established and recognized standards and procedures in its activities.

Standardized methods are a set of norms, rules, guidelines, or standards developed and accepted by reputable organizations or institutions, such as national standardization institutes, to ensure uniformity, quality, and compliance in specific fields of activity.

When a company operates in accordance with standardized methods, it means that its processes, products, or services are developed and delivered in accordance with recognized and widely accepted industry or international standards. This is often perceived as a sign of quality, reliability, and professionalism in a specific field or industry.

PCA Accreditation:

PCA accreditation is confirmation of the competence of an entity (certifying products, services, individuals, systems), laboratory (research, calibration, etc.), or inspection body to operate in a specified scope.

PCA – Polish Centre for Accreditation – The Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) is the national accreditation body authorized to accredit conformity assessment bodies based on the law of April 13, 2016, on conformity assessment systems and market surveillance (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 542).

The Polish Centre for Accreditation serves as the only national accreditation body in the light of the Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008.
